Reading at Angles
May 21st, 2008
Reading at angles is something we do every day. In life, outside of digital screens, we perceive everything at some angle. Rarely do we view content at perfect, 90 degree perpendiculars.
So the debate is whether software should try to maximize screen real estate by placing content at angles, or whether computers should try to provide more perfect conditions (i.e. no angles).

We think more and more we may start to see angles introduced into software, as graphic platforms and rendering engines are now able to do this while still providing good anti-aliasing and performance.

Wallpaper, flickr iPhone style
May 2nd, 2008
Here’s another iPhone prototype that’s been floating around the lab. One word–whimsical.
Type in a keyword, populate a wall full of frames with flickr images, rotate and customize the background, and voila–you have wallpaper.
Why not?
For a few other iPhone design concepts also take a look at Sneak and Opus.

Echobox v2
April 21st, 2008
A long time ago we created a lab named echobox. There were technical challenges so it didn’t get used too much.
Recently, we started revamping echobox to work as a gadget for drag-and-drop of images. Images can be annotated using the main client and then referenced via email. It’s a quick way for us to share ideas without the hassle of sending attachments through the mail.
Pretty cool, huh?

Touch Screen input can be hard…
We have developed a customizable on-screen keyboard for use in our touch screens. Although, text input should be minimized, it’s always nice to have a ready-to-use component.

This keyboard is on our touch screen news kiosk.

Our new retail example is an HD touch screen movie kiosk.

Not only is it fun and engaging, it’s great for movie stores and video kiosks. Like our mobile example, Sneak, you can browse movie titles and even watch previews.
